Duty free re-importation into the EU

Returned Goods Relief (RGR)
This scheme allows you to re-import a yacht/tender into the EU and obtain relief from customs duty. In order to apply, the yacht/tender must have been in free circulation with all duties and taxes paid when she was exported from the EU.

Who is eligible to apply for RGR?
Previously imported commercial yachts and VAT paid private yacht fullfilling the below conditions :
  1. The yacht owning company must not have changed since the original importation was filed;
  2. The yacht must be re-imported in an unaltered state (apart from any work that may have been required to maintain her in working order);
  3. The yacht must not have been exported for the purpose of repair or refurbishment;
  4.  The yacht must be re-imported within 3 years of the original export.
