BREXIT
What is the transition period?
Britain will leave the European Union at midnight today. However, in reality not much will change since the EU and the UK have agreed on a transition period until 31st December 2020.

During the transition period things will remain as they were before Brexit, including in yachting. As of January 1, 2021, however, the UK will be treated as a Third-Country jurisdiction from a VAT and Customs perspective.

During the transition period, yachts flagged in the UK (including Isle of Mann) continue to enjoy EU-status and remain in free circulation within the EU.

The rights of UK nationals residing in the EU remain unchanged. UK nationals legally resident in an EU country will continue to enjoy the same status as EU citizens.

H&V Yachting will be monitoring the future discussions between the EU and the UK and will keep you posted as to future developments. For any questions, dont hesitate to contact us at +377 99 99 70 18 or info@HV-Yachting.com .
